On Sunday, the 9th of October, Juliusz Dabrowski passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family.
Juliusz was born in 1938, Warsaw, Poland and moved to Chicago, IL in 1977. He married the love of his life in 1981. They relocated to San Fransisco in 1983 where he was the proprietor of J. D. Watchworks on Post St, servicing the highest quality brands of time pieces for nearly 40 years.
Juliusz is survived by his wife, Lidia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Juliusz was more than a watch repair person, he was an institution. And a very friendly person, too. He was the main person in SF that everyone went to, including all the top jewelry stores. If it was an unusual foreign watch, he'd generally find his way into it and service it. We came to him for decades, wouldn't think of going elsewhere. JD will be missed!

I´ve been a customer of Juliusz since 2002 when I got my Breitling Aerospace. Juliusz had serviced it continuously since 2004, the first time it needed a battery. Juliusz was exacting, professional, and kind. Living in/near San Francisco, I would ride my motorcycle (so, easy parking) to his shop at 210 Post Street every 2-3 years when my Breitling needed a new battery.
There´s a sneaky spot where I could always park right around the corner on Grant Ave, in the small alley on Ashburton Place, and all these years I never got a ticket. Visiting Juliusz´s shop was like passing through a time portal back to the years when craftsmen did careful, master precision work by hand. Maybe it was the old entryway into the building, or the old elevator and building. Anyway Juliusz was always the one who greeted me and, I can´t explain exactly why but it was a treat to see the man. We weren´t friends. I was simply a customer. But it was like visiting Yoda himself.
I don´t know what moved me to do this but the last time I was there, picking up my Breitling, I took a picture of my watch in front of his door. That was on the afternoon of Wednesday 03 January 2018. It was the last time I ever saw Juliusz.
Rest in Peace, Juliusz, and thank you for your masterful work for so many years. My Breitling Aerospace is my daily wear watch, and thanks to you Juliusz, it still runs great.

First my father and then I have been a customer of Juliusz´ for over twenty years now. I am so sorry to hear of his death. Juliusz had an old world dignity and charm that is so rare these days, and so his death is not just a loss to his family, but to the entire community. We are truly sorry to see you go Juliusz - you were one of the good ones.

I have known Juliusz for 42 years. He was a true watch professional who represented several of the companies I worked for as an Authorized Service Agent. Our business relationship later transitioned into a personal friendship. What I treasured most about Juliusz was his honesty, integrity, common sense, and good humor. He left this world so unexpectedly. I will miss him dearly.
