GOGGIO
To Kenneth E. Goggio, Our sweet and devoted Husband, Father, Family member and Friend who passed from this world to meet his Lord in Heaven, joined his Loved Ones who welcomed him on September 26, 2011. We feel a great loss in losing Kenneth at such a young age, following an extended illness. Now he is at peace and we are thankful to have so many fond memories to treasure about this fun-loving, giving and compassionate man. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mabel Goggio; God-parents, Clinton and Polly Hamilton; aunt, Theresa Yancey and nephew, Glenn Michael Sewell. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kay Goggio; daughters, Nancy Louise and Kathryn Irene Goggio; brother, David Louis Goggio; father and mother in law, Irvin and Marjorie Sewell; sister in law, Patricia Barrett and husband David; brothers in law, Jimmy Sewell and wife Esther and Michael Sewell and wife Patricia; aunts, Rosa Scott and Vita Schneider; numerous other relatives and friends. He will also be missed by his four Chihuahua puppies. Kenneth was born May 28, 1956 in San Antonio. He was an elementary school teacher for the Harlandale ISD for 32 years, all at Morrill Elementary School, teaching kindergarten and first grades. As a young man he earned an Eagle Scout and God and Country Awards. Kenneth went on to be an honor student and a member of the Mac Arthur High School Band, Class of 1974. He started out his teaching career as a Sunday school teacher's aide from 1974-1977 at MacArthur Park Lutheran Church. He attended San Antonio College and UTSA, receiving his Bachelors' Degree in Elementary Education and graduated in 1978. He began teaching in the fall of 1978 and continued his career until his illness, retiring in October, 2010. He was recognized by the following organizations: Honorary Lifetime Member of Texas PTA - 1984, North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce for Key Educator - 1990, and Who's Who Among America's Teachers - 2000/2004-2005. Along with his teaching duties, he was a mentor to Morrill teachers and children. Kenneth will be remembered by generations of students who passed through his classroom door. We would like to thank the staff of University Hospital Transplant Clinic for all their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, Kenneth would appreciate your donations to SAMM Ministries, Christian Senior Services and the San Antonio Food Bank. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. Mr Goggio was teacher to two of my boys..He always had nothing but good news for me about them and how much he enjoyed having them in his class. I always told him how much I appriciated him for being such a great teacher and he would just laugh his slow laugh..and say 'Thank You'...So Mr Goggio It was a pleasure to have met you...You will continue living thru every single lesson and knowledge you instilled in our children. Goggio Fam, may you find peace in your hearts knowing that you will see him again in heaven.

Kay and family: Our friendship is of short duration but the quality is of importance. Time only matters to us because God tells us that our lives are as a vapor and that one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is but one day to Him. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Our prayer for you and your precious family is that your faith will prevail in such a difficult time as this. We are also so thankful for the wonderful relationship Ken had with you Kay, your daughters, family, friends and students...what a blessing! We are so thankful for my sweet sister, Betty and her husband Scott, as they included you in our family circle at Christmas. We enjoyed your presence! What a sweet picture of the two of you sitting there on the couch holding hands. What a wonderful wife, mother and caretaker you are. You still have purpose although as difficult as it may be to continue your walk without Ken by your side...God is in control even when the circumstances seem so out of control. You and Betty are so blessed to have so many beautiful and sweet children for which to care. We love you!...and send love to you from all our family members here in Seguin.

Kay, Katy, and Nancy: There are no words that I can find to adequately express my sympathy to you. You were blessed to have Kenneth in your life, and he was blessed to have you in his. He was a good friend to me. In the last message I had from him he sent me a video of Fred Astaire dancing on the ceiling. I believe Kenneth is now free from the burdens of his illness, and he is dancing on the ceiling in Heaven. Sending you comforting hugs, my beloved sister-friend, Kay.

Ken was a voice of understanding without question for his family. He loved all who came into his presence. He loved his Chihuaha pupppies so much.( who couldn,t ).I loved his fun loving and boyish love for his wife. It was good to see that kind of love that never ends. I know he is walking with Angels now and is watching over his precious loved ones. May you be at rest, and we will miss you always.
