Kenneth Iams Obituary

Kenneth W. "Himey" Iams, 71, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 4, 2025. He was born September 13, 1953 in Waynesburg, PA a son of the late Aileen Wise Burkey and Ralph Burkey, Sr. He married Cathy D. Vester on March 18, 1977; she preceded him in death on September 25, 2000. He worked as a coal miner. Staff Sgt. Iams was a combat Vet. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW, as well as the Elks Lodge 388 and the Moose Lodge 461. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Huey-Iams; children, Michael Hugo and Brandy Iams Huffman; grandchildren, Shayna, Katelyn, Kaylee, Justin, Nova, Ione, and Wren; great-grandchildren, Cale, Atticus, Kadeem "Kai", Layne, Boston, Bartholomew, and Colette; sister, Carolyn "Sue" Casper; and nieces and nephews. In addition to Cathy and his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Burkey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8 at 1 p.m.. Military funeral honors will be performed by the Greene County Honor Guard and the U.S. Military at Greene County Memorial Park in Waynesburg, PA immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Kenneth's memory to your local VFW or American Legion.
