KENT R. NELSON

KENT R. NELSON, 81, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family in Fort Wayne. Born in Rock Island, Ill., Kent was the owner of Kent's Magna-vox TV and Appliance for 20 years. He also was an accountant with Magnavox and Inland Steel and after retirement, he worked for Sears in the appliance department. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Active YMCA Member; Volunteer at St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, and enjoyed all sports. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Adele C. Nelson of Fort Wayne; sons, Brian (Connie) Nelson of New Orleans, La., Eric (Margaret) Nelson of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Krista Motley of Crystal Lake, Ill.; granddaughter, Lily Motley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Agnes Nelson; one brother; and two sisters. A Memorial Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd. with calling one hour prior. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Lily Motley College Fund C/O Adele Nelson. D.O.
