Leon Berlin Obituary

Leon J. Berlin, 93, of Decatur, died June 4, 2017. Mr. Berlin was born in Atlanta and was the son of the late, Charles Berlin and Rose Tropp Berlin. He served in the United State Army during World War II and was a member of Congregation Shearith Israel. In addition to his parents Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Berlin; daughter, Kathryn Berlin; and 7 siblings. He is survived by his sons, Jim Berlin (Connie), Michael Berlin (Maria); grandchildren, Jacquelyn Berlin (Keith Santer), Stephanie Berlin Viscarra (Freddy), Brian Berlin (Mandi), Chris Berlin, Mike Berlin (Beth); 6 great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Sarah Berlin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Graveside services will be TODAY, June 5, 2017 at 1 o'clock at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Ari Kaiman officiating. I only met Leon one time during the family reunion in Paris TN in 2009. He and Martha and I took several trips to locations that we lived in before I joined the Army in 1939 I miss both of them so much.
