Loren Franklin Wade

1933 - 2021

Loren had a contagious laugh; warm smile and he was a man larger than life. Loren stepped into eternity from his home on August 31st surrounded by close friends and family. Loren's humble beginnings started in Melva, Missouri. He was a country boy, a farmer. He had a pet deer named Randy and a dog named Pudu. Pudu would later become a lifelong nickname, along with his pool hustling name, Dead Eye. He loved baseball and after graduation from Hollister High in 1950, he played in the minor leagues with his eyes set on going pro. A short time later Loren was drafted into the United States Army and served in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He became a licensed pilot in 1958 and honed his skills as an aviator. After his time in the service, he married Jacquelyn Joan Justus in 1957 and had two beautiful sons whom he adored with all his heart. He then worked on government projects and developed his skills as a builder. In 1982 he married Rose Alene McBride and settled permanently in Lynnwood Washington. It is there they raised their 4 children in a loving Christian home. Loren then spent the next 40 + years building half of America.
While Loren F. Wade was an astute learner and a dedicated general contractor he is remembered more accurately as a man who built people. Loren hedged his bets on the person.
His time, money and home were open to anyone who needed an extra hand. Loren would go the extra mile to see someone succeed. He knew how tough life could be and genuinely strived to bring people to Jesus Christ. Loren became a member of Open Door Baptist Church in 1987. He helped build the church (literally) and over the years took many youth from the church into his home and loved them like his own children. Loren Wade will forever be known as "Everyone's Papa."
Loren Wade will be laid to rest in the Mission Beach Cemetery overlooking the Tulalip Bay.
The memorial service will be at Open Door Baptist Church, 17014 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98037 on Friday, the 10h, at 11 AM. Flowers may be sent to the above address. Heather McBride will have a live stream on her Facebook for the service.
Loren Wade is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Rose Wade; His 2 sons by a previous marriage to Jacquelyn; Loyd and Kelly Wade of Seattle; and his 4 children Heather, Misty, Wanda and Loren Wade of Lynnwood; Brother Gale Wade of North Carolina; Sister June Roberts of Missouri; Grandchildren, Madison and Jacqueline Wade, Glacia Howely-Wade, Neveyah and Harmony McBride.
Loren was preceded in death by his father Charley Bass Wade and mother Willie Mae Barnwell; Brothers Roy Wade, Lloyd Wade, Ed (Bear) Lugenbell; Sister Cleta McNett.
Papa leaves behind a host of relatives too numerous to mention. If you were fortunate enough to have known this beautiful soul, then you understand that he didn't have friends because everybody became his family. He was always proud to be in the Family of God along with his church family.
The three words that will forever be synonymous when you think of Loren F. Wade: unconditional love, hard work and family. Arrangements entrusted to Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.
