Lorraine James Eldridge, 72, died Thursday, July 5, 2012. Born in Horry County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Annie Capps James.
Mrs. Eldridge retired as an Administrative Assistant from Butler and Stowe, CPA after 27 years of service. She also served in the same capacity with Belmont Heritage. Mrs. Eldridge was also a waitress and worked at Linebergers Fish Camp for 32 years and Catfish Cove for 12 years. Mrs. Eldridge was a member of South Point United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eldridge was preceded in death by a brother, Robert James.
Mrs. Eldridge is survived by her children and their spouses, Michele and Gene Thornton of Belmont, and Charles and Diane Eldridge of Charlotte; granddaughters, Heather Cruz and Ashley Eldridge; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel James Eldridge and Emily Cruz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Judy James, and Earl and Dollie James, all of Conway, SC, and Harry and Elizabeth James of Socastee, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth James Cannon, Pearline James Beverly and Howard Beverly, and Nona James Richardson, all of Conway, SC.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Mrs. Eldridge beginning at 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Belmont with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM. The Rev. Virgil "Buck" Harper will officiate. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Organ Fund, 5008 S New Hope Road, Belmont, NC 28012 or South Point United Methodist Church, 510 South Point Church Road, Belmont, NC 28012.
