Mae Barton Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

Mae Belle Barton Mae Belle Barton, age 81, died Friday, December 10, 2004. She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 19, 1923, to Jesse Thomas Rice and Marie Warner Rice. Mae Belle was a longtime resident of Austin who retired from the City Clerks office in 1990. She enjoyed living in Austin and all the beauty it has to offer. Mae Belle especially enjoyed the local restaurants and cherished taking any and all of her family. She took much pride in her home, her appearance, and of course her children. With so many happy family holidays and birthdays we always enjoyed her special German chocolate cake, congo squares, Thanksgiving feasts and delicious dinners. Now "Belles Kitchen" is closed but not forgotten. In Heaven she is reunited with her loving mother and father, beloved husband, Jack, and caring sisters. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Kathy Hobbs, son David Carr both of Austin, sister Florence Johnson of Austin, brother Tom Rice of Horseshoe Bay, grandchildren Josh Hobbs and wife Veronica, Sasha Hobbs, Addison Todd, Tobi Hobbs, Colton Hobbs, Jodi Welker and husband Billy and great-grandchildren. To have had the love and care that Donna, Suzanne and Jessica Revelle gave, Mae Belle was very blessed. Mae Belle is also survived by Jack s children and grandchildren and was blessed to have enjoyed many happy days with them. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Manish Niak for his gentle, compassionate and insightful care of our mom. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 13, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar. Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
