MANFORD L. ADAMS

MANFORD L. ADAMS, 96, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, in Fort Wayne. Born in Lafayette, Ind., Manford worked with General Electric for 41 years. Manford served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 296; the I.O.O.F., G.E. Fireman's Club, and the G.E. Quarter Century Club. Manford loved reading, playing pool at the Senior Center, and was an avid IU basketball and Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are his sons, Ralph Adams and Jamey (Cheryl) Adams, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Patricia (Orval) Burgess of Indianapolis, Ind. and Ann Adams of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; step sons, John (Sue) Drummond of Fort Wayne; stepson, Rob (Nancy) Drummond of Morgantown, Pa.; stepdaughter, Marcia Miller of Bristol, R.I.; stepson-in-law, Ed Ramsdell of Newport, Mass.; and brother, Wendell (Ruth) Adams of New Haven, Ind. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Adams; second wife, Virginia Adams; parents, Burton and Garnet Burton; stepdaughter, Joan Ramsdell; sister, Frances Gantz, and brother, Seth Adams. Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Senior Center of Fort Wayne.
