STOUFFER Marcus R. Stouffer, age 37, born on May 30, 1980 in El Paso, TX, passed away Saturday, September 15th of a sudden heart attack. Marcus is survived by his parents, Rick and Susan Stouffer. Marcus was employed by CSX Railroad as an I.T. Security Manager. He was also a Florida Guardian A.D. Litem where he represented abused and abandoned children in State Courts. Marcus has a passion for learning and earned many degrees and certifications. He received his BA from FSU, MBA from JU, Master's in Criminal Justice from UCF, Master Certificates, Project Management from George Washington University, Computer/Digital Forensics from UCF, GIS/Crime Analysis from UCF and key certifications that included CIPP, CFE, CP, ITIL, Six Sigma Green Belt and PMP. He was a council member of his Church at Crossroads UMC. He was very active in the Church and involved in numerous Ministries, including multiple mission trips. He touched the lives of so many people and he was always kind, generous and caring to anyone he met. He was literally a world traveler and loved to organize trips with his close friends. He loved to travel. He will be dearly missed by everyone. He was a man of character that blessed the lives of everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crossroad Church, 10005 Gate Parkway N. Jacksonville, FL 32246 and designate it as Marcus Ministries. A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 21st at 4:00 p.m. at Crossroad Church, 10005 Gate Parkway N. Jacksonville, FL 32246. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Chapel Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N. Jacksonville, FL 32225.

I am just shocked to see this right now. Came across a graduation picture on the Sandalwood Facebook page. I hadn´t thought about Marcus in years. I don´t know if you remember me but I lived in Indian Springs with your family when we were kids in elementary and middle school. Marcus, Ethan, and I used to ride bikes. I remember trick or treating with Marcus. I´m sad to hear of his passing. He was always such a sweet and caring person. Sending my heartfelt condolences. Miss you Marcus!

We do not know Marcus but it would have been very nice to have met him. On a recent visit to Jacksonville we, my wife and I went for a walk and passed by the Crossroads Church premises.
We saw a beautiful granite bench and decided to rest a bit. In doing so we saw and photographed the bench and looked up the information inscribed on it upon return home to New Jersey. We were very impressed with him through reading the many statements entered on his page and we just know he was a special person that doesn't come around often emough to be taken so early in life.
Our condolences to his family who we know cherished his too short a time on earth.

Dear Suman and Rick,
I did not know Marcus and came to know about him only last month when I was looking for tech guidance to fix something. I came across his blog which was very helpful. I wrote a reply there. Only later, while browsing, I realised that he is not on earth anymore.
His blog was very useful to me and I just had to write to let you know that he continues to help people around the world. May God give you strength.

To love is sometimes to open yourself to grief but over the years ( I am 78) I have comfort in the thought and belief that we were blessed to have them in our lives for a season--we grieve, we miss them but we know Marcus, that gentle kind boy and man is now safe with God and is again with his beloved Grandma Vera, She was my Aunt and again over the years, I know how close they were--It is very hard realize that every few months I am not going to get a call from Marcus saying he was in the area and wanted to stop by if it was convenient--It was always convenient and how I loved to see that smiling face coming through my doorway--Ricky and Susan--my prayers and much love to the two of you and also to the rest of his family and friends

My deepest sympathy to Marcus family. It was definitely a shock to hear of Marcus sudden passing. I knew Marcus since high school. We had art classes together. We reconnected again when he started working at CSX. We worked on the CSX Police Radio project. It was always great working with him. Marcus and I worked together about 20 years ago at AOL. He always had the sweetest big smile on his face and when I would stop by to say hi or ask for guidance he was always so cheerful and willing and ready to help. I was not close with Marcus, but we worked together from time to time in the field of Child Welfare. Marcus was kind, passionate, and sincere.
