Margaret Garbarini Obituary

GARBARINI
Margaret "Peg" A. (Baumann), 76, of Wharton, NJ, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on February 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine (O'Brien) Baumann. Peg was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Louis J. Garbarini. She is survived by her daughter JoAnn Garbarini and her husband Clark Denning, son John Garbarini, son Paul Garbarini and his wife Lee Nerney, daughter Eileen Garbarini and her husband William Putsky, and grandchildren Caitlin Denning, Beau and Martha Garbarini, and Kevin and Katherine Putsky. She is also survived by her sister Eileen (Baumann) Sparano, brother Walter Baumann and his wife Kathy, sisters-in-law Mary (Garbarini) Guzman, Rita (Garbarini) Civello, Eugenia (Garbarini) Tensfeldt and her husband George Tensfeldt, twenty nieces and nephews, and their families. She is also survived by many dear friends, old and new, whom she valued greatly. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ, Peg graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1952. She lived in Secaucus and then Hillsdale for many years, where she and Louie raised their family, before recently moving to Wharton. Peg was a bookkeeper for the Borough of Hillsdale for over 17 years, retiring in 1997. With her children grown, Peg went back to school and earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Bergen Community College. In her retirement, Peg was a volunteer teacher for the Hillsdale Public Schools. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, dancing and spending time with her friends and family. Over the years Peg was an active and dedicated communicant in the following parishes: Our Lady of Grace of Hoboken, Immaculate Conception of Secaucus, St. John the Baptist of Hillsdale, and St. Clement's of Dover. Peg will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Mass will be held on November 21, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Clement's Church, 154 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Dover, NJ. All friends and family are cordially invited to a luncheon immediately following the Memorial Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 in Peg's memory.
