Marshall Roberts Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Marshall Bland Roberts, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. He was a graduate of Boys High School and attended Georgia Tech where he was a member of the Naval Reserve Unit from which he was called to active duty, serving as Warrant Officer in the Pacific for the duration of World War II. After he was discharged from the Navy, he was employed by Southern Railway until his retirement. He was a member of Roswell First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sara Estes Roberts; son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Charlotte Roberts of Kingwood, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Lou and Lowell Kirkman of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, Katie and Jeff Tatum, Lindsay and Peyton Wimberly, Todd Ormsby and Cory Ormsby; great-grandson, Wilson Tatum. The family will receive friends in the parlor of the First Baptist Church of Roswell, Tuesday, June 21st from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM memorial service. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium of the First United Methodist Church of Dalton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth, GA 30096 or Roswell First Baptist Church, 710 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell, GA 30075-9934.
