MARTIN SCHOTT Obituary

Martin R. Schott, Born 1933, a respected member of the travel industry in Nashville for 35 years, died comfortably on September 24th in the company of family. Mr. Schott founded Ambassador Travel, and later was co-owner and partner in Sailair Travel. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila; daughters, Julie Lerner of Lynchburg, VA, Marcie Leibowitz (Martin) of Jacksonville, FL and Stacy Schott of Nashville; grandsons, Sean and Todd Leibowitz; brother, Lewis Schott; and scores of nieces and nephews; as well as his granddog, George. Martin Schott was predeceased by his parents, Sol & Tillie Schott; sisters, Ruth Trent, Lillian Sobelman, Harriet Wellman and brother, Murray Schott. Martin Schott, an avid member of the "Gator Nation", attended the University of Florida and served in the United States Air force. He left Daytona Beach, moved to New York and finally settled in Nashville. "Marty", as he was known by all, was a travel enthusiast of the highest caliber. He loved to travel and did, indeed, see the world. He also took great pride in his "Gators:, following their exploits, and toasting their accomplishments, in every sport undertaken by his alma mater. Quick to smile and laugh, his personality was infectious and likely to leave you happier than when he met you. A graveside service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 29th, at Mount Sinai Cemetery, in Daytona Beach. Donations may be made to the Donald E. Jacobs Fund at Temple Ohabai Shalom, 5015 Harding Road, Nashville, TN 37205, or the charity of the donor's choice.

To the Schott Family:
I was so saddened today to hear of the passing of Marty. Oh, he will be missed. Personally I am going to miss his smile and him asking me for business.
Rest in Peace Marty.
