Marvin Davey Obituary
As a lifetime resident of Sutter County and a second generation painter, Marvin impacted many lives in the Yuba-Sutter area and beyond. His son and grandson continue the legacy.
In 1963, he met the love of his life at the Yuba City Drive-In theater, fibbing about his age by making her believe he was older than she was, until they were engaged to be married.
Marvin never knew a stranger and was always the first to jump in to help anyone who needed it.
If you ever needed to find him in a crowd, you would just need to listen for his contagious, boisterous laugh. Oh, and let's not forget about the teasing! Always the jokester.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Patsy; his sons, Alan (Penny) and Greg (Brenda); his daughters, Cheryl, Janet (Duane Rygh), and Margo (Colton Wegner); 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and brother Leyon (Sue).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Elda Hilbers Davey; father, Merwin Davey; and his brothers, Cecil and Kenneth.
Marvin will be honored in a Celebration of Life ceremony on June 14, 2025, at the Church of Glad Tidings at 1179 Eager Rd, at 2 PM.

my sincere condolences to Patsy and family....it was always a pleasure and fun time to show Marvin what I´ve been up to, having been neighbors to brother Leyon for a long time....I will think of Marvin often as he had been a good part of my life, RIP.

We will miss you Uncle Marvin. You always made everything so fun. As a kid I couldn´t wait to go down to see you all in California. You always made us laugh. I remember one time riding in your work van to Uncle Oscar´s. I think I was sitting on a bucket in the back. You were being silly driving down the middle of the road. You always made me smile! Some of my best memories as a kid was visiting your house! You will be greatly missed. Love you all so much.

He was one of the greats! That few and far in-between men that women can feel comfortable around and talk to! He would listen and not pass judgement! He will be dearly missed! All my love and prayers to y'all!
