Marvis Branch Obituary

Marvis Arrington Branch

May 8, 1932 - August 2, 2025

With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Marvis A. "Mavis" Branch, who transitioned peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Greensboro, N.C.

Born May 8, 1932, in Nash County, N.C., to the late Jesse Arrington and Annie E. Moore, Mavis later made Washington, D.C., her home, where she lived a life centered around faith, family, and community.

She was the devoted wife of the late Elijah Branch and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Mavis is survived by five children, Brenda Horton, Betsy Byrd, Tansela Reaves, Elijah Branch, Jr., and Winifred Beasley. She was preceded in death by two children, Angela Musgrove and William "Bill" Branch; and her brother, James. She is also remembered lovingly by her sister, Ruby Alston.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2025, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. Online condolences may be offered at www.haneslineberryfhnorthelm.com.
