Mary JOHNS

1935 - 2022

JOHNS, Mary Jane (Marriott) 86, of Clearwater, sang her way to Heaven on January 27, 2022, her 48th wedding anniversary. She was born on November 12, 1935 in Rockdale, MD and lived in Pinellas County for 79 years. She was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and Florida State University. Mary Jane lived her life serving the Lord. Throughout fifty years she was the Choir Director at several churches in the area: FUMC Dunedin, Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Oakhurst UMC, Faith Presbyterian Church. She was the Founding Choral Director of Clearwater Community Chorus and the Suncoast Singers. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel C. Johns, Jr. She is survived by her children, Chris Hughes (Anece), Clearwater, Michele Powers (Shaun), Safety Harbor, Stephen Hughes, Canberra, Australia, Allison Bradford (Preston), Julia (Richard) Johns; grandchildren, Sarah (Robbie), Davis, and Graham Hughes, Trey and Emma Wolfe, Jacob Hughes, Toby Bradford (Courtney), Morgan Isard (Skye), Lindsay (Lulu) and Jameson Felderman; and great-grandson, Jack. A Visitation will be held at 1 pm and the Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 1 at The Refuge Church, 606 Alden Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33755.
