Mary was my favorite go to person when it comes to knowing about the city and its rich history. I have her book Death Embraced. It´s very educational.

I did not know Mary but I just finished her book, Death Embraced, and I adored it. I learned so much and her writing style was so accessible. I´m sorry I never got to tell her how talented she was, but please know that her words reached all the way to Los Angeles, CA.

To the Mary's family.
I was taken back about Mary's passing because she was such a wonderful person with much charm and happiness in her heart. She was always glad to see someone and happy to meet a new friend. She enjoyed talking about New Orleans and especially the cemeteries in New Orleans. Whenever she had a stained glass tour, was there. I learned much from Mary. She will be missed but will remain in the heart of many.

When Gary and I visited with Mrs. LaCoste she was always a very interesting and cheerful person. One year, we took a Culinary Tour in the French Quarter. Mrs. LaCoste was not our guide, but we met her at the end of the tour. She shared with us her impressive knowledge of the Civil War in NO. We really enjoyed our time with her. Gary and I will remember her fondly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

When a person crosses your mind, reach out to them! Mary crossed my mind over two weeks ago, but I was dealing with the theft of my car and I never got around to mailing her the card I had for her. A card with just a thought for her and Alvin.

Mary remained a friend after I left St. Louis Cathedral School. I would run into her once in a while and she was always a happy person. It's a good thing Heaven doesn't need tour guides. Mary can get her rest and watch over her family and friends who are here to cherish her memories.

This was not what I was expecting to find today, but God made sure I knew our beloved Mary has her place in Heaven now.
