Mary Thurman Obituary

Mary Thurman, age 89, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Laurel Court, Alvin, Texas. Mary was born on December 4, 1922, in Gallatin, Texas, and was a resident of Alvin for 35 years. She was a homemaker and a member of South Park Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Thurman, and parents, Joel and Nora Dement.
Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Charlotte Thurman, Tommy and Karen Thurman, David and Roz Thurman; 8 grandchildren, Glenn Thurman and wife, Pam, Mary Marczak and husband, Kenneth, Heather Gordon and husband, Scott, Shawn Thurman and wife, Jana, David Thurman, Jr. and wife, Leta, Laura Thurman, Lindsey Thurman, Robert Thurman; 6 great-grandchildren, Curren Thurman, Bailey Thurman, Lisa Marie Thurman, Makenna Thurman, Averi Thurman, Cole Gordon, numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at South Park Baptist Church, 1718 South Johnson, with Funeral services beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. Bruce Peterson officiating.
