Nancy Rollins Obituary

Nancy Lee (Verrill) Rollins
1952 - 2018
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Nancy Lee (Verrill) Rollins, formerly of Chelsea, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 9, 2018.
She was born in Waterville on Sept. 3, 1952, the daughter of Jean and Clayton Verrill. She grew up in Waterville, attending area schools and graduated from Cony High School.
Nancy spent the majority of her life caring for others. As a homemaker raising her four daughters, she opened her home, providing childcare to numerous children for many years. As her children grew and headed off to school, she was inspired to obtain her CNA license. Nancy worked as a CNA in Augusta area nursing homes for close to 20 years, developing loving relationships with many of her patients and coworkers.
Nancy was known for her caring nature. There was always room for one more at her table, a bed for anyone needing shelter, and a warm smile for everyone she encountered. Nancy touched many lives with her loving manner and will be fondly remembered by many.
Nancy found peace and enjoyment in nature, spending days at the ocean, her favorite spot to visit was Popham Beach, camping, gardening, ice skating, and snowmobiling. She was an avid knitter and scrapbooker, gifting afghans and precious memory books to family and friends. Nancy treasured her time spent with family and especially enjoyed gathering her daughters and their extended families for holiday and birthday celebrations, Christmas being her favorite.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her brother Clayton Verrill; and nephew Michael Butler. She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Belyea of Augusta, Buffy Belyea of Virginia, Sara Bangs Fifield and her husband Ryan of Chelsea, and Kristina Bangs and her partner Danny Nichols of Manchester; her grandchildren Amanda Parrish and her sons Noah and Finn, Kayla Vachon, Kristen Roby, Trent Bangs, Ciara McArthur, Ryan Lane, and Jackson and Caleb Fifield; her sisters Brenda Combellack and her husband John, and Debbie Dionne and her husband Steve; her stepfather Louis Golfieri; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Nancy also had many special and loving friends.
"Through its metamorphosis, Dragonfly becomes a symbol transformation and transcendence. It represents the journey from darkness into light, the afterlife, and the freedom of the spirit."
At Nancy's request, there will be no services. Memories and condolences may be shared at dignitymemorial.com

Nancy was a dear woman. We had a lot of fun back in the day. I still have the most beautiful green afghan she made us over 20 years ago. During the ice storm, she was there taking my laundry, and bringing it back washed, dried and folded, and brought the most delicious chowder. Our thoughts and prayers. Julie and Arthur Harrington

I will always remember fun times at camp with my cousins. I am the same age and Nancy and we spent a lot of weekends together. Praying for peace for her family.
