The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers of Goddard Riverside are deeply saddened by the passing of Nathan D. Taft. As a teen, Nathan volunteered with families impacted by homelessness. This experience set him on his life´s path. While employed at Jonathan Rose Companies, he oversaw the acquisition and preservation of 20,000 units of affordable housing. Nathan was my trusted and good friend in High School in Santa Barbara. We were both on the track and cross country team. We both ate lunch with each other in the early years, and even took our dates to Prom together. I recall his loving family. I often thought of Nathan, and it is not a surprise to see him be so successful in life, I wish we kept in touch with each other. Nathan made our Spanish 101 class memorable for me with his kindness and sense of fun. How he did this at 8:30 every morning after a trek up science hill, I don´t know, but he did. I will miss him.
