To all the immediate and extended Flemmens families: Thanks for including me in the notification of Nelda's Homegoing. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend the memorial service. I've been in Texas since the beginning of the year doing missions work. Also, forgive me for not responding sooner. I don't have Verizon services in the Hill Country where I'm working and have to travel 11 miles to the nearest library. Just a quick couple thoughts...Nelda always made me (and Dolly) feel special and welcome. She gave great, genuine hugs and smiles. I sent her a card at Christmas and wondered when I didn't hear back if all was OK. My memories of her were the fondest and I had the greatest respect for her. She is now in the presence of the Lord forever and that's something to rejoice over. She's also reunited with C.W. One of the greatest memories I have of our years in York County was the day C.W. asked me to come over and pray with him for the assurance of his salvation. So, I feel Nelda's Homegoing was precious in the sight of the Lord. He was awaiting her arrival and greeted her with open arms...and I can picture C.W. in the nearby reception line. All of you can take great comfort in that. Keep the legacy going.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful, fun, and encouraging mom, grandmother, etc., with other kids. Her home was like another home to me and I always loved hanging out with the Flemmens Crew, especially when my "second mom" got me hooked on gingerbread waffles, Carman's chocolate peanut butter ice cream, and lots of laughter around the table!
The Bible says there's rejoicing in heaven at the home-going of any of God's saints so I'm sure there was a party there this week. And even though she will be missed here, because of Jesus, we will see her again. We really haven't lost a loved one. We know where she is: "Absent from the body, present with the Lord."
"Mom Flemmens" was a godly lady who loved her God, loved her family, loved her church, and loved people. As a kid, I saw that over and over in her home. Some of that rubbed off on me and for that I am extremely grateful. I am blessed to have known her.
Thank you again for sharing.
