It is with heavy hearts that her family announces the passing of Nora Belle Jackson, 78, of Houston, Texas. She passed peacefully at home on September 8, 2025.
Nora was born June 15, 1947, in Goose Creek, Baytown, Texas, the eldest child of Norma Jeanetta Massingill and John Willard Brown. Her beloved sister, Celesia Darlene Salmon, along with her parents, preceded her in death.
Nora graduated from Dayton High School in 1965, where she played the clarinet in the school marching band. After attending Massey Business College, Nora began a lifelong career in the service of caring for others, with many years spent as a nurse aid and physical therapy aid. She was also a Sister of the Eastern Star for 50 years.
Nora is also preceded in death by her cherished husband of 56 years, Larry Allen Jackson. She is survived by John (Johnna), Christina, J.W. and son J.J., Rachel, Hannah, Joshua (Melanie), Gabriel, Tyler, Zander, Jordan, Adeline, Charlotte, Kameron, Khalie, Kennedi, Kelli, Lori (John), Thomas (Bre), Kayla, Steve (Phaedra), Wyatt (Hannah), Justin and Peyton. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Martha Jackson, and a host of adoring family members.
Nora lived a life of strong family values. Her strength of character, unwavering convictions, and faith in God were a source of comfort to many. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, and she will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Crosby (in the care of Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery), located at 615 Runneburg Rd, Crosby, TX, 77532, on October 11, 2025. The service will take place from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
