Norma Cherrington Obituary

Together Again
Mother was born Dec. 29, 1926 in Valley Falls, Kansas to Raymond and Emma Blanche Laird. She met Glenn Cherrington while he was stationed in Kansas during the war and later would travel to Utah to settle and be married June 10, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised 9 happy children: Diane (Filler), Cynthia (Richards), Joan (Morris), Melanie (Conway), Heather (Herrscher), Korvin, Joyce, Drew, and Michelle (Fawson). From an early age Mom knew what it was to work. Most notably she was master secretary at Petty Ford in Sugarhouse. She was always a friendly and ultra-competent worker while juggling the demands of a growing family. Her talent was wearing many hats. She seemed to know everyone in the valley! An errand with Mom meant accomplishing at least five tasks and a stop at a bakery! She had a lovely voice, wrote lyrics for Dad's music, and her homemade chicken with noodles will forever be a family favorite. Her life was always helping to improve ours. Together they saw us all through. She was blessed with 30 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson at her passing on April 17th, 2017, and all were blessed having her.

Wanted to send my condolences to Norma Jeane's family. I'm truly sorry for your loss. I'm Beverly Davis. My Grandma Helen Stanton was her Aunt. I met Norma Jeane when I was very little and living with my grandparents. I remember she always had a smile and and hug when I saw her. She was always interested in what was happening in your life. When at collage and I was headed to Salt Lake with roomates , I visited her and always had wonderful conversations. I will never forget those and how kind she was. I am truly blessed to have known her and to call her family. she was a wonderful lady and Heaven has received a beautiful angel.
