Orlin Cantrell Obituary

Orlin Reece Cantrell, 78, a 41-year resident of Annapolis, died November 6 at his home. Born February 6, 1935 in Noel, Missouri, Orlin earned his BA from the University of Maryland. He served in the USAF for 21 years, where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, and was employed by the Department of Defense for 22 years. He was a member of St. Andrew by the Bay. Orlin enjoyed playing the guitar with the South County Showstoppers, vegetable gardening and being a ski instructor. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, whom he married July 11, 1959; two sons, Bradley Cantrell of Annapolis and Douglas Cantrell of Baltimore; two daughters, Terry Martin of Severna Park and Laura Shifflett of Annapolis; brother, Willis Cantrell of Missouri; sister, Norma Hopper of Missouri; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 10 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to the American Veterans Center Attn: Gift of Support 1100 North Glebe Road St. 910, Arlington, VA 22201.
