Patricia McCullough Obituary

Patricia was called home to be with the Lord.
Pat was the daughter of Rene A. Bonnette and Barbara A. Vail born March 29, 1946 in Greenfield, MA. She died June 29, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford, and two sisters: Gail L. White of Greenfield, MA, and Margaret Phillips of East Longmeadow, MA, several nieces and nephews along with cousins in the Franklin County area.
Later, she moved to Atlanta and then to Colorado Springs in 2003. She married Clifford in October 2003.
She worked at Nakata and at Aleut.
Patricia loved the Colorado mountains and blue sky. She enjoyed traveling, oceans, lakes, hiking, snow skiing, reading and her beloved pets.
Please join to honor and celebrate Patricia's life and reflect on our memories with her at Dove-Witt, 6630 S. US Hwy 85-87, Fountain, CO 80817.
Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at Dove Witt Family Mortuary.

My dear Aunt Trish,

The last memory I have with you is that of all of us eating breakfast together as a family for Jil's wedding. It's a happy memory because it brings me a sense of togetherness and is full of love.

As soon as I met you and we talked about the Tudors and King Henry VIII, fantasy novels, and of course, your love of the color purple and unicorns, I knew that you were destined to be a part of my family. We had so much in common and you lit up my Uncle Cliff's eyes and made him incredibly happy in a way no one had before. I am so blessed that I got to know you. You were such a kind, loving person, and full of so much life. I wish I could have lived closer and had been able to spend more time with you.

I will cherish the unicorn that you wanted me to have, and I have displayed it where I can look at it every day and think of you. I miss you Aunt Trish and hope that one day I will be able to see you again.

To my beautiful Aunt Trish,

Words cannot describe the presence of love and happiness that you shared with this world.

I remember a time that you personally shared a concept of beauty that was in itself unique and wonderful. It was during our surprise winter vacation to Colorado Springs ten long years ago. I, 13 at the time, had a mouth full of metal and was at an awkward phase of my life. My sisters had made a mocking comment about my extremely large feet that were less than compatible with my growing body.

Aunt Trish, you had come to my aid with an unforgettable comment, simply stating, "A strong foundation is necessary to create the most beautiful flower".

Even though this may have seemed like a passing moment or a silly comment, it is something that I have forever carried with me and I think of often. Thank you for bringing light, smiles, and love into my life, my Uncle's life and all of the lives of everyone who ever had the grace to meet you.

May you rest in peace, out of pain and restraint, now free to fly with the angels in heaven.

Aunt Trish, your love knew no bounds and you always greeted us with kindness. We knew you were often in pain, but rarely could tell because of the brilliance that was your presence. The smell of flowers and candles that met us when we walked into your home or your arms, always a reminder of the sweetness of your soul. You're gone now, and though the candles no longer burn and your smile no longer lingers, your love and memories live on in the friends and family who loved you. We know you are watching out from up above, but we promise to stay close and be there for each other and Uncle Cliff.

My Dear Aunt Trish was open arms from the moment I met her. Every visit was a loving experience filled with laughter and smiles. She had a beautiful soul and an open, kind heart. Our love of reading--history and fantasy was an instant connection and only showed an ounce of the imagination and possibility she saw in the world. Her strength and poise in her last days made a wonderful impact on me. I will carry her love on my life journey and will never forget the joy she brought to my Uncle Cliff and my family.

My Dear Brother Cliff,

Words can not express the sadness I feel for the loss and pain you are going through. Trish was such a beautiful person and I loved her dearly. I miss her so much, but I know she is with the Lord. The following bible verse gives me comfort and I hope it will do the same for you.

Pat I will miss you. I remember at 11 years old we smoked cigs on the hill behind my house. Then the seat belts you had us put in your Olds 88. You were there for me in hard times. I will miss you so much, your cousin Brian. (Leverett, ma)

I am saddened by the loss of Trish. I knew her when we were both teenagers in western Massachusetts. She was a very intelligent young woman, so beautiful, and spent many hours writing to friends using her artistic handwriting. I knew her as Pat when she lived with her grandmother in East Longmeadow, MA. She lost her mother at a young age and this loss haunted her for many years. I reconnected with her a few years ago on Facebook and I was heartened that she had finally found the man of her dreams, Cliff McCullough. I know Cliff is grieving now and I pray to God that he find comfort. Cliff, thank you for bringing years of joy to this beautiful lady. I know Trish is now resting in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
