Dear Jill, what a blessing Pat was to all whom he met. I was fortunate to play tennis, play table tennis, sing in the Grand Singers, and perform in a musical with Pat. He excelled in all these activities. He was always gracious and caring in all that he did. He will be sorely missed but will be giving his stellar performances in heaven forever.
July 28, 2013
Dear Jill, my deepest condolences. How blessed we all were who knew Pat! He epitomized courtesy and kindness. With his warm outreach he had that rare gift of making everyone feel welcome and special. He loved music and loved to sing. As a member of SCG's first musical "Guys and Dolls' he relished his part as a singing missionary and often, during breaks while waiting to go on stage would quietly sing a tune to himself. As a member of Grand Singers, he enriched Grand Singer performances with his beautiful voice. If there is a choir of angels in the heavens, you can be certain that Pat is singing among them.

Dear Jill,
I was so sad to hear from Mike on July 17th that his dear father, and your dear husband, had succumbed. For some reason I had taken great heart from Mike's email from the previous day that Pat had been moved from the hospital ICU to a hospice, assuming, unrealistically, that his condition had markedly improved and he might yet "make it."
I can only vaguely imagine the rollercoaster of emotions you have been on, having to make (literal) life and death decisions about what to do, what not to do, integrating what Pat's wishes would be were he conscious, etc., etc., etc. into the whole already fraught mix I know you were a wellspring of comfort, security, and serenity to him for the many years of your marriage, and that his soul will sorely miss you.
Take care, Jill, and may God bless you always.

Jill, Frank and I will always cherish the friendship the four of us have had since we met 7 years ago. We have created so many memories together to CELEBRATE and share (watching sunsets, pizza nights, playing tennis, golf, PB, pool, horseshoes, fishing, karaoke, and our travels). I am sure we will be telling "Pat" stories for a long, long, time.... We love you both. Gayle and Frank

Pat and Jill have been our friends for over 25 years, we have a lot of happy memories, and funny times. our first trip to palm springs, our first time golfing, was a hoot. Pat and our first karaoke. Pat was very loving. He loved Jill so very much, it was always evident. He had his own quirky ways, that you couldnt help, but admire, laugh, or wonder. He was like a brother, to me, and I knew I could count on him. I am still in shock, and I will always miss him. my husband and I will miss all the things we did that he was also involved in. i know that he is in a better place, and he did not suffer. And for that I am glad, but we will always, reflect it as a loss to our lives. Our heart and thought is with Jill now. I know she will stay strong, thats the woman, she is. and her faith will guide her.
always your friends love kathy and richard Effinger

Jill, Earl and I feel so sad about your loss. I still remember meeting you two for the first time on the PB court. Soon after, you both came over to our home for cocktails, and Pat shared with us the love story of your first encounter. His eye sparkled brightly with the memory of that first meeting. When you performed on stage, I remember him telling me that you were "the star" of the show. I loved Pat for how he loved you. You and Pat will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Jill,
Every time I hear a Jim Croce or Neil Diamond song... I will think of Pat. My favorite karaoke night was when Pat sang Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere"... He didn't miss a beat. He sang it beautifully and he was the hit of the night. Will miss that smile!!!

Pat was a pleasure to work with when I asked him to play the part of the "trailer trash groom" in our skit "The Wedding Party." He showed one and all what a good sport he was with his open shirt and fake hairy chest, Elvis Pressley getup, and "motorcycle gang member" attitude, getting lots of laughs in the process. Dorcee and I will miss his smooth voice and nice smile.

Pat, who was a gentleman, in the true meaning, of the word, will be sorely missed, by our Grand Singers. Because his was truly a life, to be celebrated, were I not in California, I would be honored, to attend his Celebration of Life. My heart goes out, to you, Jill, and all of your family, in your great loss.

Dear Jill, I have so many fond memories of past tennis tournaments playing with and against you, but I never had the good fortune to meet your husband. He probably had many fine qualities, like you, none of which was more important than picking you as a life partner. I send you my warmest thoughts of comfort. Take care. Pat was such an asset, to the Grand Singers, as well as a wonderful gentleman, in the true sense, of the word. Although I am in Los Angeles, California, and therefore cannot attend his Life Celebration service, I will be there, in spirit. While I did not have the pleasure, of meeting you, Jill, Pat spoke so highly of you and your family, the day I sat next to him, at a final concert rehearsal, and asked him if you and he had any redheaded children. Pat will be sorely missed, by all those, whose lives he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours, in this time of grief, for your terrible loss.

Jill, I am still in shock over Pat's passing. He will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man. It was so much fun having him in any of my shows.
I remember the first time he auditioned and was not chosen. He took the disappointed with such grace and worked to improve his singing. The next time he auditioned he was selected and that started a long association that I am so sorry to see end. Pat helped set up our own Karaoke and loved to sing. You gave him much joy and happiness, he is probable smiling down on you and singing his heart out. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. My heart goes out to you and his family. So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I remember when he and Jill first started singing karaoke. They both became valued and talented singers and performers not only in the karaoke community but in musical productions in Sun City Grand. I hosted karaoke at Dillon's in Sun City Grand for 2.5 years and Pat always stayed until the very end. How he loved to sing and he always worked up new songs every week. He became a very polished performer who sincerely was part of our karaoke family. Everyone loved him, especially his soul mate Jill, the happiest person I have ever met. And together they lit up the room. He will be missed, but is now singing alongside his friends, David Bentley and Dave Burgoyne, in heaven.
