Paul Schwark Obituary

Paul M. Schwark, a native of Yuma was born November 21, 1921. His only time away from Yuma was to serve in WW II as a commissioned Air Corp (Force) pilot who flew missions in Italy, and to attend Tempe Normal College, now ASU. While at college, he met the love of his life, and the mother of his three children, Connie Vaughan.

Upon receiving his BA Degree he returned to Yuma and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He was the first CPA in the city. Until his death, August 2, 2012, he continued his CPA practice which at one time was one of the largest CPA firms in Yuma. During his career, he was involved with many community organizations.

After his wife's death in 1989, he later married his long time neighbor and friend Lamoine Hardy. They remained married until her death in 2011.

Paul leaves behind son Ken, an administrator with the State, son Bill, an anesthesiologist, daughter Karen, a teacher in the Yuma School District, and son-in-law Bill Babb, a school psychologist for the high school district, also eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Through his marriage to Lamoine, he gained four step sons, Richard (Becky), Steve (Karen), Gary, and Tim (Kathy), as well as many step grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Johnson Mortuary. Services will be Wednesday, August 8, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, and because of Paul's love for animals, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Yuma.

Dear Ken, Bill, and Karen:
My parents, Dr. and Mrs. A.J. Mackey, had known your parents since the 1950's and we neighbors as of 1964. Your father was their accountant and mine for many years as well. He was such a dignified, professional gentleman. He and your mother were such a nice couple. I will miss seeing your father pulling out of the driveway or coming home from work. You were lucky to have him for so long. My mother is still living but we have almost lost an entire generation. They all gave us such good examples to follow in this life.
Sincerely, Carolyn Mackey Hasty If I can help with anything, let me know. I'm right up the street in the old "homestead".
