Paula Kilpatrick

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Paula Kilpatrick, 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Life Tabernacle Church, 4445 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, LA 71109. Officiating will be Pastor Sam Carr and Pastor Kevin Craig. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kilpatrick was born on December 25, 1932 in Stewart, MS and passed away on June 2, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. Paula was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her relationship with the Lord was very important to her and she dedicated her life to teaching and leading others. She touched many lives spiritually and emotionally and her testimony inspired many people. Mrs. Kilpatrick authored two books about her life and faith. Paula and her husband traveled extensively to share their Christian faith and testimonies with others. Mrs. Kilpatrick was a great cook and her family and friends loved her famous BBQ sandwiches. Paula had a great sense of humor and the ability to always make others smile. She loved to give to others and to help everyone she could. Paula lived a life rich with faith and always had a servant's heart.

Mrs. Kilpatrick was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles E. Kilpatrick; her parents; one brother, Douglas McGarrh and one sister, Margaret Lamb.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Paula are her children, Thomas Kilpatrick and wife Olivia, Karen Kilpatrick Williams and husband Ernie and Kelly Kilpatrick Craig and husband Kevin; two sisters, Phyllis McGarrh and Lin Ross; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all of her friends and church family for the care shown to Mrs. Kilpatrick.

Karen and Kelly, I want to tell you how very sorry I was to hear about the loss of your Mother. I did not read the paper that day and Pam and I just found out a few days ago. I really appreciated her and her prayers in life for me. It was through her prayers that God gave me the jobs he had purposed for me in life. When I lost my Mother it was the greatest loss of my life. It has taken the Holy Spirit and time to help me overcome. You will find you two girls will draw closer to each other. You will need each other more than you ever have. Your love will become sweeter for each other. Paula, gave me such great words of comfort a day or two after my Grandmother passed. She said my Grandmother was looking at a lot of things in Heaven. It was very comforting to know she was receiving her reward and was seeing so many things that had been laid up for her. The things that she had wondered about in life and trials she had gone through God was giving her understanding and joy at last. I believe we all go through trials in this life sort of like a school to help us become the soldier we are meant to be. Not the trial but the things of wisdom and experience it works in us. I believe she is seeing her things of reward now. The tears are now turned into jewels. May God bless you children. Her prayers are still in the earth for all of you. Even though we can't help but cry at times but if the situation was reversed you would want her to be happy and to carry on life until her day was completed. That is what she wants for all of you to be happy and to carry on in life with joy and serving the Lord. I wish you the very best in life.

I have attended church with Paula in the past and was blessed to sit under this gifted teacher. A childhood friend introduced me to Paula one day and she asked if she could pray for me. I agreed and that simple prayer impacted my life beyond measure. God put this beautiful spirit in my path with the aid of my friend to introduce me to the Holy Spirit in way I never knew before. There is never the right words to express your love and appreciation to this Servant of God. Your mother, grandmother, great grandmother was small in stature but a mighty force on earth for the Lord. Knowing her changed my life for all the better. What a divine legacy you are left with and how blessed I am to have known her!

Paula & Charlie Kilpatrick were sent here to be God's light in a very dark world for so many people. She brought hope and love into my life, my son and my mother as well. Her beauty and confidence in the Holy Spirit worked together in harmony for all to see. Her ministry was absolutely Spirit Filled. I love Paula and Charlie for their ministry and look forward to our reunion one day. What a wonderful legacy they left!

Charlie taught the Word & Paula

Ms. Paula was one of the biggest influences in my spiritual life. She taught me the ways of God when I was involved with her ministry and I was truly blessed to have known both her and Charlie. I owe her so much as to my spiritual development and I thank God for bringing her into our lives. She is home with the Master and she will be missed but not forgotten.

They taught with so much love, etc. So many memories...her meetings, their church, home prayers & classes...& never turning anyone down for prayer or advice, no matter what the time. I love Mrs. Paula dearly. I will cherish all the memories we have shared together working with her In Her ministry at Word of Life on Tuesday mornings and then on Thursday evenings. Being able to travel with her to several of her Mercy trips and church visits blessed me tremendously. She taught me so much and always loved teaching me all I asked her about. She never failed to ask about my family, calling each one by name. I loved being able to get to know her humerous side and she would always tell me she was just normal, like anyone else "until" she ministered. And could she minister! She was amazing sharing her life, her stories, encouraging others, loving people, and spreading the Lords love wherever she went. She always shared about her son, and daughters and grandchildren, she loved you and Charlie so much. She would always leave me with, come see me someone, Ok. My prayers are with you all.
