Dear Leora, Carolyn, Brenda, and all the family: Dot and I were deeply saddened to hear of Perry's passing. Perry and "my girls" have been very much on our minds and in our hearts and prayers these ,past two weeks. We know his passing his passing leaves a void that nothing can fill; we also know that you are left with a treasure chest of loving, wonderful memories that will endure forever. I first met your Mom and Dad in 1973. That marked the beginning of a treasured friendship that has endured and flourished over these many years. He was always there when you needed him--always willing and anxious to help anybody he could, in any way he could-- a true and faithful friend to the end. I always looked forward to his frequent visits to Nfld.---first to "Mom Lewis'" home , and in more recent years, to our home. In between these visits there were the frequent telephone "visits". Perry had a certain presence about him that endeared him to many people. In his little notebook he kept meticulous track of so many family birth dates on the Lewis side of the family. As a result many children(including my grand children) received a birthday card from "Uncle Perry in Texas." He was a truly caring, considerate person. How fortunate I was to have enjoyed his friendship for so many years! I will miss him dearly. Although miles separate us, know that we are close in heart and prayer as you mourn the passing and celebrate the life of this very special person. Love you all.Stay close. Aunt Dot, Uncle Ed & family. .
