Connie Rusk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home - Wichita Falls on Mar. 30, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Charlene (Catlin) Rusk

Connie Charlene (Catlin) Rusk went home peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. With a life rooted in faith, she is now in a joyous reunion with her Lord and Savior and her loved ones.

Charlene was born on November 2, 1934, in Iowa Park, Texas, to Cecil and Vida (Robinson) Catlin. She attended Iowa Park High School and built a beautiful life with her husband, Garland "Rusty" Rusk, whom she married on October 13, 1951. Together, they shared 64 years of devotion, partnership, and hard work, building successful family businesses including Park Tank Truck Services and Rusk Production.

Charlene lived with a generous spirit and a servant's heart. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority, the Iowa Park Garden Club, and a faithful charter member of Lakeview Church of God, where she served joyfully throughout her life. A cancer survivor, she enjoyed fundraising for Relay for Life and giving back to her community in countless ways.

Family was the center of Charlene's world. She adored her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She found joy in family gatherings, decorating for holidays and cooking with her family, and creating warm traditions that will live on for generations. Charlene enjoyed traveling in her early years and playing bridge with her friends. Her strength, love, kindness, and unwavering work ethic were gifts she shared freely with everyone around her.

Charlene was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her beloved husband Rusty; her children Gary Rusk, Keith Rusk, and Judy (Rusk) Haggart; her brothers Delbert and Carl Catlin; her grandson Wesley Porter; and her great grandchildren Zoey Harlow and Barrett Patterson.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her sister, Carol Ridlehuber; her grandchildren, Dustin Rusk and wife Brianne, Colby Rusk and wife Heather, Brady Rusk and wife Emily, Sandy Lalk and husband Trevor, Sally Ford and husband Mark, Justin Rusk and wife April, Bryer Patterson and husband Zack, Kyle Porter, Jordan Moss and husband Jon, Grant Haggart, and Georgia Haggart; along with 28 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, from 6:00–7:00 PM at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will take place Thursday, April 2, at 10:00 AM at Lakeview Church, Iowa Park, Texas, with interment following at Highland Cemetery, Iowa Park, Texas.

Charlene's family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers for their compassion and support during these past months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Lakeview Church, Iowa Park, Texas, or the Highland Cemetery Association, Iowa Park, Texas.
