Carissima Romana,

Maurizio

With the passing of Philip we have lost a great man, a champion of humanity and generosity.
To be friend of Him, as I had the honour to be, was a human enrichment.
He was a very religious man, always behaving according to the gospel's principles.
Phil was very proud of his Trentino Tyrolean origin and, with open heart, he devoted a lot of his time and enthusiasm to the preservation of the Tyrolean heritage.
All the Trentino Tyrolean community of North America must be thankful to Him for all he did for it.
I'll never forget and will be always thankful to Him for what he did when 1985 I came to USA with the Franciscan Fathers Bonifacio Bolognani and Efrem Trettel to shoot “Bread from Underground”, the documentary film about hopes, sacrifices and death of Trentino Tyrolean people in the American mines.
In few days there will be in Val di Sole (Trentino) the yearly “Emigration Day” and Bread from Underground will be shown. People attending the event will see and hear Philip expressing his Trentino Tyrolean pride.
Dear Romana, be happy and proud to have had the fortune to spend many years of your life with a man like Phil. I share your sorrow and feel close to you.
Paolo Magagnotti, Trento
