R.H. Posey Jr.

Flora

R.H. Posey, Jr., long time resident of Flora, Mississippi passed away peacefully in his home on July 28, 2011 at the age of 82. He was born on March 26, 1929 to Virginia Keys Posey and R.H. Posey, Sr. He attended Sledge School and graduated from Flora High School. He attended Milllsaps College and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and was a pitcher for the Millsaps baseball team. He was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church. He was a retired cattle farmer, business owner, and horse trainer of Tennessee walking horses. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Oswalt Posey, his son, Henry Presley Posey, his son William Jeffrey Posey(Dawn), his daughter, Leisa Posey Rucker ( Joe), his grandchildren, William(Bill) Jeffrey Posey, Jr.(McLain), Andrew(Drew) Keys Posey, Joseph Spencer Rucker, and Emily Paige Rucker, Gail Oswalt Cauthen his sister in law, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was adored by his family and leaves lots of wonderful memories they will cherish forever. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness, his friendliness, and his love for animals.

Visitation will be Friday July 29, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Flora United Methodist Church at 142 Carter Street in Flora Mississippi. Graveside services will be Saturday July 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Flora United Methodist Church building fund. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland is assisting with the arrangements.
