Mertzon
Ramona Martinez Lara, 84, of Mertzon, Texas, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017. She was born on May 24, 1933 in Loraine, Texas, to Vicente and Consuelo Martinez. She married Samuel Lara on April 16, 1949. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Mertzon, Texas. She had a passion for crocheting and spending time with her family.
She was survived by her husband, Sam; son Abel and wife Elsa of San Angelo; daughter Sylvia Molina and husband Robert of Odessa; grandchildren Ronnie Molina, Kristy Molina, Liza Magallan and Kari Gonzalez and husband Marcos; brother Adan Martinez and wife Toni; sister Elodia Hinojosa; sister-in-law Mary Lou Martinez; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Baby Lara; her parents, Vicente and Consuelo Martinez; and her brothers, Manuel Martinez Sr. and Efren Martinez Sr.
Pallbearers include Ronnie Sr., Isaac Ryan, Jayden, Nathaniel, Ezekiel and Marcos Sr. Honorary pallbearers are Esai, Adrian, Marcos Jr., Samuel, Vicente, Sonny and Ronnie Jr.
Visitation for Mrs. Lara is at 6 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, with rosary service following at 7 p.m. in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Mertzon, Texas with burial in Mertzon Cemetery.
