ARLINGTON, TX -- Rheta Mae Overholser age 89, of Arlington, Texas, and formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 5:30 am Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Abiding Joy Senior Living in Arlington, Texas.
Rheta was born December 28, 1935, in Greenville to the late Ernest "Sam" & Kathryn (Folkreth) Hart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob J. Overholser on April 20, 2006, whom she married February 15, 1958; grandson, Trent Deering; and a brother, Ronald Dean Hart.
Rheta is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Julie & Billy Deering of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jennifer & Charles Pool of Arlington, Texas; and grandchildren, Ashley Deering, Brent Deering, and Alex Pool.
Rheta was a homemaker and worked at JC Penny in Greenville and in Texas. She was a member of the Red Hat Club in Hurst, Texas. Rheta enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, July 21, 2025, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery in Greenville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 in Rheta's memory.
