BARTONVILLE - Richard Lee "Dick" Lauterbach, age 80, of Bartonville, Ill., passed away at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1931, in Peoria to Claus and Margaret (Tolen) Lauterbach. He married Mildred "Mim" Allgaier at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Oct. 6, 1956. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Harvey (Edith) Lauterbach of Peoria, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Lucille Lauterbach of Peoria, Ill.; one nephew, Mark (Marlene) Hammerich of Wyoming, Ill.; one niece, Susan (John) Buntrock of Woodridge, Ill.; four great-nieces, Patsy Miller and Holly Hammerich of Putnam, Ill., Mandy Hammerich of Henry, Ill., and Ashley Bruntrock of Woodridge, Ill.; and one great-great-niece, Emmarose Miller of Putnam, Ill.
Dick was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
He was a member of the Fun Makers of Mohammed Shrine. He's been a member of Mohammed Shrine for 48 years. Dick was a member of Temple Lodge No. 46 AF&AM in Peoria. He was also a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville for many years.
Dick served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1953 to 1955.
He worked as a township supervisor of Limestone Township for many years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, Bartonville, Ill. The Rev. Eimo Hinrichs will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 9:50 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Glasford, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the TAPS animal shelter.

My sincere sympathy to Richard Lauterbach's family during this difficult time. Dick was always good for a great conversation or two while we got school buses ready for daily trips.

We express our deepest sympathy to Mildred and the entire Lauterbach family and Allgaier family at this time. Sorry we are not able to be with you because we are visiting with our son in Williamsburg, VA, but remembering all of you in our prayers. We will be thinking of you especially on Saturday when you all gather for the memorial services. Love to all of you, ken and joan lauterbach.

I MET DICK BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL WHILE AT PEORIA HIGH. I KNOW HE WENT TO MANUAL, BUT HE HAD ONE CLASS AT PHS. HE WAS A FRIENDLY YOUNG MAN WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR AND A JOY TO BE AROUND.
