Dick was a very fine gentleman. I had the pleasure of sharing his third-deck office space within the Sup's building. Dick displayed a shard mind, a quick wit, an intense loyalty, an easy going personality and was always eager to listen. Each work day had a joyous gathering of third-deck associates to discuss the world's ills over Carlson's donuts and coffee. We often wondered why we shouldn't be the leaders of the free world as conflict resolution was our forte and it seemed we always had a precise answer to the world's problems; only afterward would we then begin our daily work routine.
I will deeply miss talking with Dick at Savvas' barber shop.

Doris, Joanie and I send our deepest sympathy to you during this difficult time. Dick was an uncompromising gentleman who loved his family and his work at Navy. God bless you and your family.

Doris,
I am so sorry to hear that Dr. Mathieu has passed. I worked across the hall from him and his staff, and we had lunch at the Little Campus/Galway Bay every Friday until I retired.
My prayers are with you and your family whom he talked about all the time. May God bless you all.

May your wonderful memories help you through this loss. He was a very kind man who truly cared about others. I have many fond memories from A/N games.
