Suzann and I want to express our condolences to Dick's family. The YHS Class of '53 lost two of its valued members this past week, Dick and Andy Ahuro. As with my friend and classmate, Jim Bright, I knew Dick for more than 60 years. I had great respect his business acumen, but more importantly, I appreciated his generousity and humbleness.

Respectively,

I was very saddned when I heard the news but I know you are in a much better place and no longer in pain! I had the pleasure to meet you and get to know you better while we were both recovering at the Yuma Rehab Hospital. You were always smiling and found a way to make even those of us patients who were in pain laugh, thank you for that! I remember sneaking out of our rooms, cruising in our wheelchairs to watch the world series in the little cafeteria room...trying to get one of the nurses to bring us a beer and popcorn..haha! You will be missed and my prayers go out to your family and friends. Until we meet again....
God Bless,

Dick, if anyone deserves a holiday named after them you do, Yuma could use a " Dick Rautenberg Day." For me. the day that most represents your life is the 4th of July, for the Independence, freedom, assisting, helping others, the list goes on and on and let us not forget some fireworks also. You have meant so much to so many, for so long that while we will mourn your loss we will keep you alive in our hearts and the stories that we pass along to each other. RIP my friend.

To the Rautenberg Family,

Please accept our condolences. Dick used to tow most of the seized vehicles for the Border Patrol back in the day. He always had a smile on his face and always had cold water or sodas for the BP Agents when he responded to our calls. A nice man to many who will no doubt be rewarded for his efforts here on earth. May you rest in peace.

Uncle Dick, I wish i had had the opportuntity to let you know how much you where a part of sharping my life as a child. Having never known my own father, you where all I really knew of a true and love family. (Aunt Barbara and cousin Kent) It was so musch fun to be part of a lovely family, laughing, and silly things. I remember the races, riding in the tow truck, dinner out. the pool, but more importantly this bad leroy brown cadillac. I will truly miss him, but he is now with Kent at the stock car races in Heaven. Love you Uncle Dick

When I was very young I remember running around the junk yard playing sword fights with car antennas. Mr. Rautenberg was a long time fixture in my family as his son Kent and my father Mike Landin were very good friends. Dick was a one of a kind person with love that could build bridges that know no boundaries. I will always remember silver dollars and the smell of cigars. May he always rest in peace on a oval dirt track.

Deacon, you're an amazing man, evident in your daughter. I only met you a couple of times but could instantly see that spark and sparkle that you gave to Seneca. What a legacy you leave behind and such a positive influence on a community, further reaching than you probably were aware of. I'm honored to have met you; may God grant you peace.

Tracie Nunnaley-Davis

June 19, 2013

Mr. Rautenberg, I knew you back when I was very little showing horses with Seneca. Being so little I never got to know you very well, but I can say growing up in Yuma I feel like I knew you. Anytime I went to a community event your name could be found to support said event. I know you raised a beautiful loving daughter which says so much about the parents who raised her. You did so much good in the Yuma community. I feel grateful to get to know you the little I did. Praying for your family in their time of loss.
