I have known Richard since the early 80's. We played golf on many occasions, and he was a riot. I moved from the Austin area in the 90's and always received a Christmas card from him, which I will always remember. Richard always had something off-the-wall to say that kept you laughing. We talked alot during the Spurs run in the playoffs, he always called me Manu. I called him after Thanksgiving and he answered the phone with, "Ok give it to me about the Aggies", with a laugh. I wish I could have known to come to visit him over the last few weeks. He was a true friend and Im sure a good role model to his co-workers. Richard touched many lives for the better.
Richard, Old Buddy, RIP.

Richard always put a smile on my face and made me laugh harder than anyone I ever knew with his jokes. It was a blast to pretend I had a brother in RIchard. Then he became so beloved by all my children seeing him at Serranos. Most of all, he took Joey under his wing and they became so close,Not just working together, but hanging out at sportsbars, going to see the Spurs , partying and calling each other which they had done just last month. Richard was the Man and so loved!!

I came to Austin in 1967 and was also in the John H. Reagan marching band. I played clarinet and I remember Richard as a very courteous, nice person who was greatly musicially talented --great French horn player as well. He was a good person and I am sorry that he is no longer with us but glad that he is with God.
