To Marci, Beth, Michael and the grandchildren:
I was so sad to learn that Richard passed away. On my trips up north, I always looked forward to seeing him as we had an ongoing friendly debate on the virtues and defects of everything from water quality to social issues. We each declared ourselves the winner. Richard was easy to like and respect at the same time. I will always remember one of his last comments to me: "We've been gone for a long time, but we will always be Chicagoans." Rest in peace.
