Not sure what to say?

My twin sister Ann and I graduated with Rives and Betty in 1952 from Highland Springs High School. Ours was the last graduating class of that school which was located in the rear of the old school building that housed Grades 1 through 12. Rives and Betty Huzek were high school sweethearts - he the handsome sports figure (football, baseball) and she the beautiful brunette cheerleader with the winning smile. My twin and I hosted our Class Reunions every five years from 1972 through 2002 -...

I first met Rives and Betty when we were students at UVA in 1954. When I went to work in the pharmaceutical industry for Novartis in 1958 I called on his father Dr. Herman Bailey. When Rives started his practice in Yorktown with Drs. Joynes and Campbell I called on them until I retired in 1993. Rives and Hawes came to my retirement party. Rives was a great person to have as a friend. I never saw him in in a bad mood. He called me Abbie and I could never beat him at golf.

I am Just learning of Dr. Baileys passing. My heart aches today as I read this. What a remarkable loving man. As the story goes he "saved" my life when I was a toddler. And he always held me close in his love and care. As an adult he provided loving care to my daddy Tommy Green. We were forever grateful. It was good to see that million dollar smile of his as I read this obituary. God bless all of you and know your dad (husband) made such a difference in so many lives. Thanks for sharing...

The "Doctor's Bailey" were truly a blessing to our family as well as so many others. What great fortune to grow up at a time that let us know them both! Godspeed, Rives.

Delivered into this world by Rives´ father, I spent many afternoons playing touch football with Rives on the Bailey´s side yard. Later I watched from the stands of Scott Stadium at The University, as Rives was the quarterback for our Cavaliers. His was a life well spent. Morris Banks Scituate Ma.

I worked with Dr. Bailey at the Lackey clinic for many years. He was an excellent doctor and had true compassion for his patients. He will be Dearly missed. What a comfort to know he is in the presence of our Savior!
