Bob Garoutte, 77, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2013, surrounded and loved by family. He was born on April 27, 1936 to Ed and Ruby Garoutte. Bob, formerly of Deer Park and Stratford, was retired and living in Austin. He was widely known as a man who could fix most anything and had an eye for creativity. He was a generous man, always first to volunteer to help others, and quick to make people laugh and feel comfortable.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Nola Cummings and Wanda Woolsey; two brothers, Bill Garoutte and Clifford Garoutte. Bob was greatly loved in this life and the family takes comfort and joy at the thought of his family reunion in heaven.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rogene Seaman Garoutte; his son, Wayne Garoutte and wife Betty of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Len Wilson and fiancé, Norman Holmes of Huffman, Texas; and his daughter, Kara Thompson and husband Jack of Austin, Texas.
Bob's family and especially his grandkids were the pride of his life. Gran, as he was affectionately known, has four grandchildren, Trent Wilson (girlfriend Taylor Hagan), Jessica Sumner (husband Bryan), Micah Garoutte and Taylor Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Hebert and Morgan Sumner. He is also survived by two sisters, Sis Steinberger and Mary Lou Cotney both of Stratford, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service was Monday, June 10, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel in Austin followed by interment at Onion Creek Memorial Park. Bob's memory page may be seen at www.wcfish.com.

It has been six years since Dad (Gran) has been gone. All of us miss him. Miss him saying, "What's happening?" when we pull into his garage and see him. We miss his big laugh and helping heart. He was always there to help us. Boy do we miss him. It is our profound prayer that his is laughing and whooping it up with God and his heavenly family - boy did he love his sisters. We can only imagine their fun. Love you Gran!

Bob "Gran Gran" was a special man to my young daughter Courtney when she spent time with Jessica and Micah at his and Gene's house in Houston. My deepest sympathy and love to the family.
