Robert Jakubiec Obituary

Robert Albert Jakubiec, 95, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Arlington Heights was born May 31, 1919 in Chicago to the late Albert and Tessie (nee Sergott) Jakubiec and passed away June 24, 2014. Robert served in WWII as a lieutenant in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Collett, which was the first U.S. naval vessel to enter Tokyo Bay. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Mabel (nee Witgen); loving father of James Albert (Susan) Jakubiec and Marilou (Charles) Reed; cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Robert Jakubiec and dear brother of the late Evelyn Harris and his twin sister Louise Miller. Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2014 from 8:30 AM until time of prayers 9:30 AM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Funeral mass will be held at St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
