Robert Kleinman Obituary
Robert Kleinman, age 89, passed away early Friday morning, September 25, 2015, just one month shy of his 90th birthday. He was at home with his family by his side. He was born October 27, 1925 in Bronx, New York.
After high school, he joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in the Pacific on The USS Orange, where he served as a Gunner's First Mate during World War II. His battalion was chosen to be in a movie titled "Tars and Spars" starring Sid Caesar. During one of the group scenes on deck of the Battle Ship, he crossed his arms so that everyone who saw the movie could single him out.
After his honorable discharge, he moved to Texas as a sales representative. He then returned to New York to work as an electrician at the Radio City Music Hall where met his wife, Thelma Palazzo, a Rockette and native of Akron, Ohio. They were married August 27, 1955 at Saint Anthony's Church. In December 1956, their twin boys were born. They later moved back to Akron, Ohio in 1958 where their three daughters were born.
Since 1975, Bob was an active member of St. Hilary's Church, where he served as an usher and a Eucharistic Minister. He also served on numerous retreats, sharing his unique faith journey.
He was a Salesman of Women's Retail Wear and had a successful career of over 40 years. He was a past President of the WAC of Ohio sales association. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing Bridge. He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Brill) and Joseph Kleinman; a brother, Harold and his brother-in-law, Cy Shabman.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma (Palazzo) Kleinman; his sister, Lila Shabman; five Children, Scott (Sue) Kleinman, Ron Kleinman, Karen McCombs, Eileen Kleinman and Roberta Kleinman; four grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kailey, Michael and Christian; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours 4 to 8 Wednesday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. in Fairlawn.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Hilary Catholic Church followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Hilary Parish Foundation, 2750 West Market Street, Fairlawn, OH 44333 in memory of Robert Kleinman.

Mrs.Kleinman (Thelma) and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. It has been such a pleasure knowing Mr.Kleinman and being friends with you, with him and your family. I have the unique privledge of having taken ballet from Mrs.Kleinman at an early age and sharing her love of dance, and then staying close with her all of these many years.
