I am most fortunate to have gotten to know Bob over this past year -- a truly wonderful human being. It would take many adjectives to describe him, but warm, gentle, kind, caring, thoughtful, appreciative, and funny are just a few. I enjoyed sharing food, wine, conversation, and laughter (a lot) with him. Amidst all of the laughter, he had much insight and wisdom to impart; his words linger in my mind.
He found true happiness in Terry, that was quite obvious to all. It is indeed sad that time is so limited. But memories and Bob's spirit have an eternity of their own.
May Bob's family find peace; and may there be peace on Earth.

Dear Family:
Although I had not seen Bob in years, I remember him as a childhood friend. The times our families spent together and the many times he and I played catch and backyard baseball at our house or theirs on 89th Street.
He endured quite a bit of tragedy having lost most of his family at an early age, yet he overcame that and was a respected successful doctor. He always had a gentle demeanor about him every time we interacted. I'm sorry about this tremendous loss not only to you but all he served. I hope you find some peace and comfort as time passes.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about "Dr. Bob's" passing. I will remember him for his sense of humor, and how good he was with my son, getting down on the floor with him, keeping him occupied with paper cups...he had a knack. i pray he's at peace, and my heart goes out to his family.

When my husband was relocated to KC two years ago after a short time on the East Coast, he had no idea that the man he rented a home from would become a friend. I met Bob and Terry when we later shared a delightful dinner together. That evening, I learned that Bob was warm, funny, and caring; it was obvious that he and Terry cared deeply for each other. It was also obvious that he was devoted to doing the best for his patients. We are so very sorry to hear of his passing. Terry, you and all of Bob's family are in our thoughts.

I was saddened to read of Dr Meyer's death. He was always compassionate with patients and family members. He always wished his pts a speedy recovery and I would hear him say "God bless you" as he would leave a pt's room. He would speak of his children with such pride. May God's comfort surround his family at this time.

To Bob's family, my thoughts are with you. I feel his loss, even at a distance, so I can only imagine how you, who got to share time with him regularly, feel. I went to medical school with Bob and was honored to attend his first wedding. To me, he was an outstandingly funny and witty friend, with a great perspective on life, who I will remember for many very enjoyable episodes and for his ready commentary on many different things. There are still instances, now almost 35 years hence, when I remember something he routinely said as if it were yesterday. Words are, as usual, inadequate. I wish, as we always do, that I had kept in better touch and I am happy for you who got to enjoy him so much for so long. Peace be with you.
