Robert Myers Obituary

Robert C. Myers

Robert C. (Bob) Myers was called home to glory on Saturday, June 11th.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bob lived a life that exemplified generosity, mercy and faithfulness.

As a man of God, Bob lived as a shining example of our Heavenly Father. He never missed an opportunity to quip, (You can't out-give the Lord,) and thus never missed an opportunity to give of himself in order to display God's love to others. Bob was well known for his intellect and wise counsel. He was a pillar in the Akron community serving as Chairman of the Board for Pastoral Counseling Service of Summit County and a member of the Board of Trustees for Akron Baptist Temple.

Bob founded Associated Underwriters Insurance (AUI), which provides insurance services to tens of thousands throughout Northeast Ohio.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Gladys Myers. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Julie; adoring children, Chrissy, her husband Steve, Bobby, his wife Danielle; and three grandchildren, Madeline, Caleb, and Juniper; as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and cousins.

Donations can be made to Pastoral Counseling Service of Summit County and Akron Baptist Temple.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Catavolos Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44333, where the service will be held Thursday at 10:30 am. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Dear Julie

Hello friend, I'm sorry this contact is a on a such a sad note. I still treasure the years at the church working with you and Bob. Would like to extend to you and your family deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss.

I just found out about Bob's passing today when I was talking to a friend. Bob's name came up as were talking about people who were serving at the temple in a strong way. Sounds consistent with the Bob I know.

May God keep you as you grieve your loss. May God walk with you and comfort you and show you his great mercy and grace as you walk with him through this time of sorrow. I pray God's healing touch to mend the hurt and pain of loss for you and your family. With prayers a blessing for you and yours as you continue to serve God.

Your friend Denny

I knew Bob from the ABT and he had been my insurance agent. A motorcyclist who hit me from behind had no insurance. Young. Bob let him pay the damages off in payments. Never saw anything like that before. I never forgot what a kind act Bob did for that young boy. The kid didn't miss a payment. Bob was a good man. Linda White Lonsdorf

Myers family,

I got no Bob when I first moved to Akron 42 years ago. I was introduced to him as a possible insurance agent. I not only used him as my insurance agent but also later my wife and our three sons. He was perfect example of customer service as always truthful and helpful-a real gentleman. When I saw his obituary I showed my wife and we remembered how he came to our house when each of our sons became of driving age. He explained to them the responsibility of taking the driver's seat. Although I haven't seen him in years I have never forgotten how welcome he made me to the Akron area. We said a little prayer for your family and Bob. We know God smiles upon his good and faithful servant.

Dear Bob, We have been through a lot over the years. We fought, We brother loved but for the most part we always made up. We made so many memories over the years mostly good. I remember when we first moved up from Texas you and I lived with Grandma till mom and dad could secure a place big enough for all of us to live. In the meantime our little brother stirred up a bunch of trouble with all the neighborhood kids telling them they couldn't do anything to him cause when his big brothers got there they would take of business. After a short conference we told the kids that we we're not going to defend Richard for doing that. You have given me so many good memories over the years. I was so proud of you when you asked Julie to be your wife. She took the wild side of you and threw it in the trash. I have been proud of you in how you lived your life and was envious at times. I had 2 brothers who really put things together. I'm guessing it was Julie and Karla that straightened you both out. Hahahaha. I will miss you little brother but my hopes are that I will see You on the other side. I love you gary

Julie,
Haven't seen you and Bob in years, but we have never forgotten either of you. Bob was always a lot of fun in our bible studies and other activities we had as single adults. I remember working with you in the nursery (or were we just always taking our kids to the nursery- LOL) May God Bless you richly and wrap His arms around you as only He can do.

Dear Julie and family, it was a pleasure to know Bob. We met thru his parents after we were married by his dad Pastor Myers. He was our go to insurance guy for many years. He displayed a gentle spirit and always had a smile. Was a pleasure to know him. He will be missed here but "Heavens Gain". God Bless you.

Julie, I will never be able to truly express the blessing Bob was to me and our entire family. You both are an excellent example of God's love and generosity. I want to share two memories - the kids playing flashlight tag in your huge house And Bob being an excellent shot with rubber bands (he NEVER missed)! Thank you for bringing Bob into our lives, he was the most wonderful brother God could have ever blessed me with. I love you.

Julie - I'm so grateful that Bob was in my life not just as "my boss" but as my friend and mentor. I have come to love this man who with his gentle and wise words counseled and comforted me through the years. I'll keep as a precious memory, the many conversations and laughter...and he did laugh with all his heart. But then again, the most precious thing about Bob was his heart. We'll all miss him greatly yet keep him close by the warm and loving memories Bob left for us. Maggie Romutis

Julie.... Bob was more than my boss for 28 years. He was a great friend and mentor. He had a way of giving you direction and counsel that always made good sence. He will be greatly missed by my family and a host of others. I will always admire his generosity and willingness to help others. I am a better person for knowing Bob. Penny and I are so thankful that Bob is now reunited with his parents. II Corinthians 5:8. Julie, Bob will be missed more than you will know. I will always remember the love and devotion he showed to you and the example he set as a husband and father for everyone around him. He truly was a light for so many people and would have given the shirt off of his back for just about anyone in need. He will be missed and know you were blessed. As a sister I could have asked for no better brother in law. I was blessed beyond measure. I am remembering you in prayer, I love you and will be here for you when you need me.
