Robert V. Primmer

Robert V. Primmer, 82, of Melbourne, FL, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from Parkinson's disease. A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Runge Mortuary, 838 E. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, on Saturday, April 29, from 12-2pm. Robert will be laid to rest in Lima, OH, at Lima Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Robert was born October 21, 1939 in Lima, OH. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Hanes on December 20, 1959, in Lima, OH. They enjoyed over 62 years of marriage before Robert passed away.
Robert enjoyed a long career in banking. In 1970 he began expanding and strengthening the Rock Island Lines Employee Credit Union. In 1986 he became President of Scott Schools Credit Union in Davenport, IA, until retiring in 2003.
Robert had many passions. A consummate sportsman, he dominated tennis courts from high school in Lima, OH, to the Quad Cities in the 1980's. He was also a competitive hunter, fly fisher, and trap & skeet shooter. In addition to sports, Bob and Sandra enjoyed traveling the world learning about wines, collecting, and attending tastings. Their greatest joy though, was always spending time with pets, family, and friends. They moved to Spokane, WA, in 2004 to spend time with children and grandchildren, then moved to Melbourne, FL, in 2013.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Harold and mother, Alta Primmer of Lima, OH. He leaves behind his wife, Sandra Primmer currently of Bettendorf, IA; sister, Marilyn (Pete) Rose of Georgetown, TX; daughter, Vicki (Todd) Marsh of Boise, ID; son, Jeffrey (Kara) Primmer of Davenport, IA; along with 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
