Robert Shuckerow Obituary



Robert W. "Bob" Shuckerow, 82, returned to our lord April 18, 2015, passing away unexpectedly at home. He was born on January 31, 1933 in Hartford, CT to the late William and Isabelle (Russell) Shuckerow. He resided in East Hartford most of his life before relocating to Vernon 10 years ago. Prior to his retirement he worked for the town of East Hartford Department of Public Works for forty-three years. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War. He enjoyed playing Bingo every Saturday at the Army\Navy Club. Besides his wife Carole of 44 years, he leaves his children Kathleen J. Schultz of Manchester, Patricia A. Martin and her husband Brian of South Windsor, Robert W. Shuckerow Jr., and his wife Michelle of West Greenwich, RI and Lee Anna Shuckerow of East Hartford. He is survived by eight brothers; James, Richard, Ronald (his identical twin), Kenneth, John, Dennis, William and Kevin Shuckerow, four sisters; Margaret Duchesneau, Nancy Higgins, Mary Lou Bugda and Wilma Carr. He also leaves nine grandchildren; Tanya, Nicholas, Nadine, Renee and Stacy Shuckerow, Crystal and Jessica Schultz, Bradley and Chelsea Martin; four great grandchildren; Kayla and Isabella Shuckerow, Landon Shaw and Nathan Greenwood. He was predeceased by his first wife Barbara and brother Francis. Calling hours will be Wednesday April 22nd from 4-7 PM at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT, 06108. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
