Robert Usry Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, James D. Usry and Sarah E. Bailey; brothers, Henry Ocsar Usry, Leonard Usry, Charles Usry; and sister, Florine Lankford.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Billie A. White Usry; daughter, Sherry Usry Brooks (Ray Brooks); and son, Michael K. Usry (Tracy Nelson Usry); and precious granddaughters, Grace O. Usry and Emilia Q. Usry; sister, Dorothy Nell Phillips (Billy Phillips); and a host of other family members and friends whom he loved.
Bob was a graduate of Cherokee County HS class of 1955, Jacksonville State University, and he received a MS degree from Bowling Green University. He served in the military for 24 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition, he was a lab director at DCH until he retired in 2011.
His great passions were serving the Lord, spending time with family and researching/educating others on genealogy.
Pallbearers include friends, nephews and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers are the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class and Women of Faith Sunday School Class.
Special thanks to Fire Station No. 4, Dr. Keith DeBell, Dr. Mandel, Dr. Ann Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Circlewood Baptist Church for Ukraine Ministry or to West Alabama Hospice.

I met Bob when he went to work as Lab Director at DCH.
I never met a nicer gentleman. He always had a kind word for everyone. I'm proud to have known him.
