Jeanette, there are no words to express my heartfelt love I feel for your and Robert's loss. Wayne and you Jeanette have always been there for Jim and me..especially for me after
Jim's passing. I can't begin to list the times I have leaned on you during dark times such as these are now for you. As "Willis" would always say "I'm here babe". and he always was just a phone call away. As he has been for so many others. That was just Wayne, GIVER, listener, advisor, comfortor, and a true blue friend to whomever he met. He never met a stranger. He knew me as a baby long before I knew him. As a toddler I would sneak out of our house in old downtown Childersburg and make Moody's grocery my first stop where I had learned I would get candy from Henry Moody. Then, if mother and daddy had not recaptured me, I would ramble across the street to Willis curb market where I had learned I would receive goodies also from a tall, skinny, black haired teenager. By then, my run on the loose would be over and I would be caught. But, only until I could escape again and again. But "Willis" was always there watching me.

Fast forward to my junior high years when after school I would walk downtown C'Burg to where mother was working. Next door just happened to be "Wayne Willis Insurance". I could hear the rat-a-tat-tat of a manual typewriter as Dixie Donahoo furiously got the days business done. But the greatest gift of music in my life was born when Wayne would play his sax in the office. I would go in the shoe store storage room, lay on shoes boxes and listen to his masterful runs and twills on music I had never heard. My love for jazz and blues was born. Willis was there.

My life once again was touched so meaningfully by Wayne in my adulthood. I married one of his best friends. And Willis was forever in my life....Willis" was always there. There are so many drug store stories that are very comforting memories. The banter between Jim and Wayne would get so ridiculous but as always so hilarious. Wayne's big silly cackle would fill the room, any room, as soon as he entered. There was always a joke to tell, or a true story he could embellish better than any stand up comedian and bring a smile and brighten any one's day wherever he went. Wayne was a very wise and sincere man with a gift few people possess. He just "got" people. He had a rare insight into whomever sought his advice. And always had a very knowledgeable, comforting solution. "Willis" was always there for any and everyone. He was truly, as he would so aptly put it, my other big brother from another mother.

I love you babe, and I will always be here.
