ROGER KROGEN Obituary

ROGER KROGEN Roger Earl Krogen, 82, of Las Vegas, passed away March 1, 2015. He was born Nov. 26, 1932, in Gary, Ind., to Earl and Dorothy Krogen. He grew up in Jefferson, Wis., before joining the U.S. Navy and eventually earned the rank of lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves in California. Roger met the love of his life, Gwen, at the University of California Santa Barbara and married her in 1957. They had three sons, Michael, Jeffrey and Kenneth. He was a city planner for the City of Los Angeles for 25 years before moving to Las Vegas and opening up his own business as a registered agent and financial advisor. He enjoyed gun collecting and spending time with his family. Roger was preceded in death by his parent. Roger is survived by his wife; his sons; his two sisters, Joyce Ursin of Illinois, and Kay Krogen of California; five grandsons, Peter, Erik, Christopher, Mathew and Nicholas, and one granddaughter, Carrie Ann. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Mortuary-S. Jones. A scattering of his remains will take place in a private ceremony conducted by the Navy in the Pacific Ocean.
